“We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.” –JFK Jr.

Our Mission

We’re on a mission to prove that you can intentionally change human behavior, at scale, in even the most complex institutions on the planet. It would be easier to do just about anything else for a job. Literally anything else. But we’re the kind of people who get their kicks from doing the hard things.

Because we’re mission driven, there are 3 requirements to being a member of NOBL:

  1. You hold this mission as the most crucial challenge of your career, not only because it's inherently tough but also because it has the potential to address many other issues, like equity, autonomy, agency, and sustainability. We expect you to bring passion for the mission into your work.
  2. You commit yourself to developing deep mastery in our work; to challenge yourself to grow and learn, both in your individual skills and your ability to work with your teammates and partners. We expect you to invest in your own development and demonstrate progress.
  3. You reject activities that are “change theater,” tactics that merely give the illusion of change, even when those activities are commercially attractive or personally fulfilling (e.g. prettifying decks, Montessori-like workshops, etc.). We expect you to continually challenge us to remain focused on the right work.

These are hard requirements. You will be asked to leave NOBL if we observe a pattern of behavior that works against our collective mission.

Our Universal Creed

“Each year, we seem to progress toward ever-greater degrees of cynicism, disbelief, or disenchantment. Indeed, this may be the only progress we can discern in our lives.”

–David Mazella

"Creed" is how we articulate our most sacred, most persistent, and most pervasive shared belief. A belief that should help a) fuel us toward our mission, b) knit us together in good times and bad, and c) identify other like-hearted individuals to join us.

Our Creed: Together, Change is Possible

We know, from hard experience, that change is messy, far from guaranteed, rarely linear, and can take considerable time; and yet we believe in our bones that the possibility for change is always present, especially when individuals are willing to work together.
